Our Approach
How Our Therapy Works
1. We take the time to get to know you
We start by learning about your history and where you are facing your greatest challenges. Depending on your needs, we assess whether outpatient therapy is the right level of care for you. Our goal is to build trust while uncovering your unique story.
2. We create a plan together.
Based on your goals, we’ll develop a personalized treatment plan. If needed, we’ll coordinate with a care team, which might include your doctor, dietitian, or psychiatrist, to support your overall health.
3. We support you every step of the way.
Each therapy session builds on the last, with tools that fit your needs. As you grow, we’ll adjust your plan and connect you with any additional resources or referrals to ensure continued progress.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your therapy rates?
Do you accept insurance?
We are not in-network with any insurance providers. However, we can provide you with a “Superbill” to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Please note: Not all insurance companies reimburse for out-of-network providers. Many clients receive reimbursement through PPO health insurance plans, medical flexible spending accounts, or health savings accounts. However, clients with HMO or EPO insurance plans should be aware that these plans generally do not offer reimbursement for services rendered by out-of-network providers. We recommend contacting your insurance company directly with questions about your specific coverage.
What’s your cancellation policy?
We strive to provide exceptional care while respecting the time of both our clients and therapists. If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please provide more than 24 hours notice. You can email your therapist directly or log into your Jane account to cancel within the allowed cancellation window. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will be subject to the full session fee.
How often will I need to attend therapy?
After an initial assessment and mutual agreement to continue, therapy typically consists of weekly 50-minute sessions. This frequency is generally recommended as it helps build momentum, make consistent progress, and maximize the benefits of therapy.
However, the frequency and duration of therapy will depend on your individual circumstances, needs, and goals. Therapy often involves a mix of personal exploration, reflection, behavior change, and skill-building.
How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy can be beneficial for nearly anyone, particularly during challenging times marked by significant life stressors. Some common reasons for seeking therapy include:
- Feeling overwhelmed or burned out
- Experiencing persistent worry or anxiety
- Feeling down, hopeless, or depressed
- Struggling to cope with life changes or challenges
- Relationship difficulties
- Grief and loss
- Trauma
- Feeling lonely or isolated
- Difficulty managing intrusive thoughts
- Emotional regulation challenges
- Work or school issues
- Changes in eating patterns
- Seeking greater self-understanding
How do I choose the right therapist for me?
Research shows that the client-therapist relationship, also known as the therapeutic alliance, is the strongest predictor of positive outcomes in therapy. It may take one or several sessions to determine if a therapist is the right fit. We recommend giving it some time and considering the following factors:
The therapist’s:
- Approach and style
- Expertise in your areas of concern
- Availability and schedule
- Personality and likability
- Openness to your feedback
- Reliability and trustworthiness
As the client, you should feel:
- Heard, understood and respected
- Empowered and productively challenged
- Comfortable being vulnerable (or working toward greater vulnerability)
- Honest and increasingly open
Finding the right therapist is a personal process, and it’s important to trust your instincts as you evaluate how you feel during your sessions.
